This travel kit combines the flexible Odyssey 1–3 pen capacity concept with a mechanical interior air-temperature reference that does not require charging or a display battery.

Why Choose the Mechanical Dial Travel Kit?
BC-B006 is designed for travelers who prefer a direct mechanical temperature reference instead of a digital display.
The dial operates without charging or a display battery. A metal probe extends into the cooler interior and responds to changes in the air temperature around the probe.
The additional Blue BioGel Freeze Pack provides greater flexibility when preparing cooling components for travel, a return journey, or situations where another prepared BioGel component may be useful.
The extra BioGel Freeze Pack should not be interpreted as doubling the cooler's tested cooling duration or creating a fixed additional number of cooling hours.
Flexible 1–3 Pen Capacity
Odyssey BC-B006 provides a flexible 1–3 pen capacity range for selected compatible injection devices.
Depending on the exact device dimensions and packing setup, Odyssey can accommodate up to:
- 3 selected common insulin pens
- 2 selected multi-dose GLP-1 injection pens
- 1 selected wider injection device
Actual fit depends on the exact device dimensions, shape, orientation, protective packaging, and BioGel placement.

Up to 60H Cooling Support
DISONCARE Odyssey is a passive medication travel cooler. It does not electrically regulate the cooler chamber to a fixed temperature.
Under controlled testing, the Odyssey cooler produced the following results:

Actual cooling duration and internal temperature vary with ambient conditions, BioGel preparation, device load, packing arrangement, starting temperature, and how often the cooler is opened.
“Up to 60H” does not mean the cooler remains within 2–8°C / 36–46°F for the full 60 hours.
Battery-Free Mechanical Dial Temperature Display
BC-B006 uses a Mechanical Dial Temperature Display built into the lid.
The mechanical dial does not require charging or a display battery. Read the temperature reference directly from the dial on top of the lid.
Interior Probe Design
A metal probe extends into the cooler interior and responds to the air temperature around the probe.
The dial does not directly measure:
- the medication itself;
- the liquid inside an injection device;
- the Blue BioGel Freeze Pack;
- every location inside the cooler chamber.
Allow the Reading to Stabilize
After loading, opening, or repacking the cooler, allow time for the interior air temperature and mechanical dial reading to stabilize.
A temporary change in the reading after opening the lid is normal because outside air enters the cooler.
The Mechanical Dial Temperature Display provides an interior air-temperature reference only. It does not actively regulate cooling or determine whether medication remains suitable for use.
How to Prepare the Blue BioGel Freeze Pack
- Freeze the Blue BioGel Freeze Pack at approximately −18°C / 0°F for 6–8 hours, or until fully frozen.

After removing it from the freezer, either:
- leave it at room temperature for approximately 15–30 minutes; or
- rinse the outside under normal tap water for approximately 30–60 seconds.
- Place the prepared BioGel cooling component into the cooler according to the product instructions.
- Use the protective packing supplied with the BC-B006 cooler set, original medication packaging when appropriate, or another suitable barrier.
- Avoid prolonged direct contact between the injection device and a freshly frozen BioGel surface.
This preparation helps moderate the initial surface temperature of the frozen cooling component. It does not guarantee that medication cannot freeze.
Why Include an Extra BioGel Freeze Pack?
The additional Blue BioGel Freeze Pack gives you another cooling component that can be prepared separately when your travel plan allows.
It may be useful for:
- preparing for a return journey;
- travel where suitable freezer access is available;
- keeping another BioGel cooling component available as part of your travel setup.
The extra BioGel Freeze Pack does not double the cooler's tested cooling duration and does not create a guaranteed number of additional cooling hours.
BC-B006 vs Other Odyssey Lid Options
Odyssey BC-B001, BC-B004, and BC-B006 share the same general cooler-body and capacity concept. Their main difference is the lid configuration:
- BC-B001 — Standard Lid: no built-in temperature display.
- BC-B004 — Digital Temperature Display: provides a numerical interior air-temperature reference near the lid sensor.
- BC-B006 — Mechanical Dial Temperature Display: provides a battery-free interior air-temperature reference using a mechanical dial and probe.
Choose BC-B006 if you prefer a mechanical temperature reference without charging or a digital display battery.
