The DISONCARE Intercontinental Series provides the largest internal capacity in the current DISONCARE hard medication cooler range. It is designed for users who need more room for multiple compatible insulin pens, GLP-1 injection devices, or selected biologic, fertility, hormone and other injection devices.

There are two Intercontinental sizes:

  • BC-B002: a 1–5 pen capacity range depending on the exact device and packing setup, with up to 60 hours of cooling support.
  • BC-B003: a larger 1–7 pen capacity range depending on the exact device and packing setup, with up to 74 hours of cooling support.

Important: “1–5 pens” and “1–7 pens” are series size-selection references. They do not mean every injection device fits at the maximum quantity. Wider single-dose devices and auto-injectors can use significantly more internal space than common insulin pens.

Intercontinental Fit at a Glance

Model Insulin Pen Capacity GLP-1 Capacity Direction Cooling Support
BC-B002 Up to 5 selected insulin pens Up to 3 selected multi-dose pens or 1 selected wider device Up to 60H
BC-B003 Up to 7 selected insulin pens Up to 5 selected multi-dose pens or up to 2 selected wider devices Up to 74H

Actual fit depends on the exact device dimensions, cap or housing design, protective barrier, cooling component and packing arrangement.

Intercontinental BC-B002

BC-B002 is the smaller Intercontinental model. It provides more internal space than Odyssey while remaining smaller than BC-B003.

Its general fit positioning is:

  • up to 5 selected insulin pens;
  • up to 3 selected multi-dose GLP-1 pens;
  • or 1 selected wider injection device.

BC-B002 provides up to 60 hours of cooling support under stated test conditions.

BC-B002 Dimensions

  • Total height: approximately 9.3 in / 23.5 cm
  • External diameter: approximately 2.8 in / 7 cm
  • Usable internal height: approximately 7.1 in / 18 cm
  • Maximum clearance beside the BioGel Bottle: approximately 1.4 in / 3.5 cm

The approximately 1.4 in / 3.5 cm clearance figure describes available space beside the cooling component in the relevant packing setup. It should not be treated as a universal maximum device diameter.

Intercontinental BC-B003

BC-B003 is the largest current DISONCARE hard medication cooler and is intended for users who need additional internal room for more compatible devices or selected wider injection formats.

Its general fit positioning is:

  • up to 7 selected insulin pens;
  • up to 5 selected multi-dose GLP-1 pens;
  • or up to 2 selected wider injection devices.

BC-B003 provides up to 74 hours of cooling support under stated test conditions.

BC-B003 Dimensions

  • Total height: approximately 9.8 in / 25 cm
  • External diameter: approximately 3 in / 7.6 cm
  • Usable internal height: approximately 7.5 in / 19 cm
  • Internal chamber diameter: approximately 2.65 in / 6.7 cm
  • Maximum clearance beside the BioGel Bottle: approximately 1.43 in / 3.65 cm

The approximately 1.43 in / 3.65 cm clearance beside the BioGel Bottle is not a universal maximum injection-device diameter. Actual fit depends on how the device, cooling component and protective barrier are arranged together.

Common Insulin Pens That Fit Intercontinental

Intercontinental is the primary DISONCARE hard-cooler option for users carrying multiple compatible insulin pens.

Depending on the exact pen format:

  • BC-B002: up to 5 selected insulin pens
  • BC-B003: up to 7 selected insulin pens

Common insulin-pen formats included in DISONCARE fit references may include devices associated with:

  • Lantus SoloStar
  • NovoLog
  • NovoRapid
  • Fiasp
  • Levemir
  • Tresiba
  • Humalog
  • Toujeo
  • Insuman
  • other selected slim insulin-pen formats

These names help identify common physical pen formats. Maximum capacity should still be checked against the exact pen version you use.

Common GLP-1 Injection Devices That Fit Intercontinental

Intercontinental provides more flexibility for GLP-1 injection devices than Holiday or Odyssey, but device format still determines capacity.

A slimmer multi-dose pen may allow several devices to fit, while a wider single-dose injection device can use substantially more internal space.

BC-B002 GLP-1 Fit

Current BC-B002 fit references include:

  • Victoza — up to 5
  • Ozempic — up to 3
  • Wegovy FlexTouch — up to 3
  • Saxenda — up to 3
  • Selected wider single-dose devices — up to 1

For selected wider formats such as Mounjaro single-dose, Zepbound single-dose or Trulicity single-dose devices, BC-B002 should be treated as a single-device fit when that exact device format is confirmed.

Mounjaro KwikPen and Zepbound KwikPen should not be assigned a specific BC-B002 quantity unless the exact device format has been confirmed.

BC-B003 GLP-1 Fit

BC-B003 provides more internal capacity and can accommodate:

  • up to 5 selected multi-dose GLP-1 pens;
  • or up to 2 selected wider injection devices, depending on exact format.

One current device-specific confirmed reference is:

  • Bydureon BCise — up to 3

Mounjaro KwikPen and Zepbound KwikPen should continue to be treated as separate device formats. Do not assign a BC-B003 quantity until that exact physical format has been confirmed.

Likewise, Wegovy device versions should remain separated by physical format rather than being grouped under one universal “Wegovy” capacity.

Common Other Injection Devices That Fit Intercontinental

Intercontinental can also accommodate selected biologic, fertility, hormone and other injection-device formats. These devices vary considerably in diameter, so device-specific quantities are especially important.

Examples included in current DISONCARE fit references may include:

  • Praluent
  • Repatha
  • Enbrel
  • Amgevita
  • Imraldi
  • Actemra
  • Kesimpta
  • Aimovig
  • Entyvio
  • Gonal-F
  • Norditropin FlexPro
  • other selected injection devices

Praluent Device-Specific Fit

Praluent is an important example of why the exact device version matters. The current Intercontinental Fit Guide keeps the following formats separate:

  • Praluent 75 mg / 150 mg — ×4
  • Praluent 300 mg — ×2

Praluent 75 mg and 150 mg are grouped as one device-format entry, while the 300 mg format is listed separately because its physical size uses more internal space.

Do not replace these with one universal “Praluent ×4” statement.

Larger Devices — Check Fit Before Ordering

Some injection devices are larger or may vary by market and should not receive an automatic capacity number without checking the exact version.

Examples include selected versions of:

  • Humira
  • Skyrizi
  • Genotropin GoQuick

For these devices, confirm the exact market version, full device length and widest external diameter before ordering.

How to Check Your Device Before Ordering

1. Identify the Exact Delivery Device

Record the medication name, dose, market version and device format. A medication may be available as a multi-dose pen, KwikPen, single-dose device, auto-injector or prefilled syringe.

2. Measure the Device With the Cap Attached

Use the physical device in the form you actually plan to carry. Measure the full length and widest external diameter.

3. Include the Protective Barrier

A protective pouch or another suitable barrier uses part of the internal space. Real-world fit should be checked with your intended packing setup rather than the bare device alone.

4. Account for the Cooling Component

The available clearance beside the BioGel Bottle is smaller than the full empty chamber diameter. Do not compare device diameter only with the outer or empty internal diameter of the cooler.

5. Check Quantity by Device Format

The maximum 5-pen or 7-pen capacity applies only to selected compatible formats. A wider auto-injector may reduce the actual quantity substantially.

6. Do Not Force the Lid Closed

The lid should close naturally without excessive pressure on the injection device. If your selected devices do not fit comfortably, reduce the quantity or choose the larger BC-B003 model where appropriate.

BC-B002 vs BC-B003: Which Size Should You Choose?

Feature BC-B002 BC-B003
General Capacity 1–5 pen range 1–7 pen range
Selected Insulin Pens Up to 5 Up to 7
Selected Multi-Dose GLP-1 Pens Up to 3 Up to 5
Selected Wider Devices Generally 1 Up to 2 depending on format
Cooling Support Up to 60H Up to 74H
Usable Internal Height Approx. 7.1 in / 18 cm Approx. 7.5 in / 19 cm

Choose BC-B002 If:

  • you need more room than Odyssey;
  • up to 5 selected insulin pens is sufficient;
  • you carry up to 3 selected multi-dose GLP-1 pens;
  • your exact wider device is confirmed to fit individually.

Choose BC-B003 If:

  • you need the largest current DISONCARE hard-cooler capacity;
  • you carry more compatible insulin pens;
  • you need additional space for selected GLP-1 or other wider devices;
  • BC-B002 does not provide enough usable room for your actual packing setup.

Intercontinental Cooling Support

Intercontinental fit and cooling duration should be treated as two separate questions.

  • BC-B002: up to 60 hours of cooling support under stated test conditions.
  • BC-B003: up to 74 hours of cooling support under stated test conditions.

Cooling performance depends on preparation, ambient temperature, device load, packing setup and opening frequency.

The “up to 60H” or “up to 74H” statement does not mean every medication remains within one fixed temperature range for the full stated duration. Always follow the storage instructions supplied with your specific medication.

The Blue BioGel Bottle is the primary cooling component. Where an Emergency Bottle is included as part of an extended setup, it should not be described as a fixed additive formula such as “60H + 14H” for every use condition.

Important Intercontinental Fit Notes

  • BC-B002 and BC-B003 have different internal capacities and should not be grouped under one universal “1–7 pen” claim.
  • BC-B002 supports up to 5 selected insulin pens, while BC-B003 supports up to 7 selected insulin pens.
  • Selected multi-dose GLP-1 capacity is generally up to 3 in BC-B002 and up to 5 in BC-B003.
  • Wider single-dose injection devices may reduce capacity to 1 in BC-B002 or up to 2 in BC-B003 depending on the exact format.
  • Bydureon BCise is currently confirmed at up to 3 in BC-B003.
  • Praluent 75 / 150 mg and Praluent 300 mg should remain separate fit entries because their confirmed capacities differ.
  • Mounjaro KwikPen and Zepbound KwikPen should not receive a specific Intercontinental quantity until the exact device format has been confirmed.
  • Wegovy device versions should be separated by physical format and market where relevant.
  • Clearance beside the BioGel Bottle is not the same as a universal maximum device diameter.
  • Physical fit does not determine the storage requirements of a medication.

Always follow the current storage and handling instructions supplied with your specific medication.

DISONCARE cooling containers do not include or sell insulin, GLP-1 medication, prescription drugs or other injectable medicines.
